Training

Mario Luraschi trains most of his horses himself. He gets them in Spain or Portugal, starts with a basic training and trains them further into classical high school dressage or stuntwork.
“At the beginning, each movement counts. The slightest error will be paid for. But once the thrust is there, the horses give everything they have got in them and will adapt themselves to the most unexpected situations.”

Preparing

Being a former high level performing gymnast, Mario Luraschi is especially interested in well balanced horses. He prepares them meticulously, not hesitating to use a stopwatch to work their endurance.
“I train my horses to be my best partners, in order to be able to ask them any effort at the any given time demanded.”

Love

For Mario, the horse creates the rider and the other way around.
“The horse made me Mario Luraschi and I thank him for that. He exceeds the human and allows us to express ourselves through him.”

Thanking & Caring

It is impossible to mention all the horses that have influenced him. Mario Luraschi has seen hundreds of them pass by at his stables. He takes care of their retirement and keeps his preferred horses near him. He even erected a small mausoleum in his yard to honour his best horses.

At the farm, there are more than 40 horses stabled. Spanish or Portuguese horses and nearly all of them are stallions. Each has got its own speciality. The one is a fire specialist, the other one dances, the third is a professional no-stress stunt horse, etc.
